Rene Capone

San Francisco based figure artist, Rene Carol Capone (b. September 22, 1978) is an American painter known for his depiction of the figure with whimsical and erotic themes, often used together. He also works with stories and myths.

Capone was born in Niskayuna, New York. One of four children to Linda Capone and is of no relation to mobster Al Capone.

He attended the Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, New York City. Upon completion in 2000, he moved to San Francisco where he currently resides.

Private collectors of Capone's work can be found in the United States of America, Canada, Sweden, England, France, Japan, and the Netherlands. In 2004 Glaxo Smith Kline became his first corporate collector.

He self published the graphic novel 'The Legend of Hedgehog Boy' in 2011, a story about a boy who goes into the woods to find his identity. Other publishing achievements include: Stripped: The Illustrated Male from Bruno Gmunder. His work has been featured in XY magazine, Blue, Joey, Y&A, as well as being featured widely over the world wide web.

Currently he is illustrating a children's book titled 'I Have A Turtle Who Likes To Eat Fish'
