Philip Yenawine

Philip Yenawine has been engaged in museum education for forty years, ten years of which were spent as Director of Education at The Museum of Modern Art. He is founding director of the Aspen Art Museum and ran education programs at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY among others. Yenawine served as consulting curator at the Institute for Contemporary Art. With Laura Donnelley, he co-founded Art Matters, a foundation that provides fellowship to artists whose work addresses social issues. He co-created Visual Thinking Strategies with Abigail Housen. He is co-founding director of the Watershed Collective, a non profit educational organization that develops online resources for teachers. He writes about art and has many books including six for children. He was an early member of VisualAIDS and one of the initiators of Day With(out) Art.
