StoreFor 25 years Visual AIDS has been working with artists,
advocates, and friends like YOU, to lead the way in making a
difference, using art to provoke change, and raise AIDS awareness. In
this season of sharing, we want to thank you for all you do, and ask for
your continued support.
In 1988, when Visual AIDS was founded, our community
was both devastated by the AIDS crisis, and united in love, loss, and
anger. A quarter of a century later, I am heartened by advances made in
AIDS advocacy, science, and education. But even NOW, we continue to fight many of the same battles and face new struggles.

And, of course, we are excited about the launch of this new website, and the digitization of the Visual AIDS Artist Registry.
We also have new staff changes. Esther McGowan
joined Visual AIDS as our Associate Director. She brings to Visual AIDS
a rich history of New York’s art scene and a strong background in
events and cultural development. Ted Kerr has raised the bar as Programs Manager, building new alliances with diverse communities.
As I step into my new position as Executive Director, I
am inspired by how much the generosity and creativity of artists
continues to shape and drive AIDS activism. Art is unmatched as a tool
for provoking dialogue and communicating across cultural, ideological,
and generational divides.
What’s NEXT for 2013? We'll start off our 25th year with Postcards from the Edge, January 25-27. Visual AIDS will produce new publications and artist projects, our first co-sponsored curatorial residency program, and NOT OVER: 25 Years of Visual AIDS a series of exhibitions and pubic programs bringing together the rich cultural history of the epidemic, along with contemporary realities.
