Andrés Rangl

Andrés Rangl is a Costa Rican fashion art director and photographer based in New York. His insignia specializes in alternative fashion insights, exploring the margins of gender, sexuality and digital culture. His use of imagery interrogates, analyzes and disrupts what it means to be an online globalized (a)sexualized body within an offline reality; in other words, how we might or might not experience our sexuality based on the dichotomy of our virtual selves in relation to our on-and-off-screens interactions.

His interests span across various aesthetic categories, such as Post-Feminism, Post-Pornography (imagery that is not produced for mere masturbatory purposes), Post-Internet (aesthetics produced after the Internet experience, not necessarily represented in a virtual/digital platform (≠ Internet Art)), non-binary and genderqueer identities, kitsch, and camp.

If it's respectful-ish, unapologetic and mischievous, then I'm interested. We are fortunate to have things be forbidden, allowing us to have the beautiful feeling of disobedience.
