Born in Haiti. I was diagnosed with HIV in 1983 and AIDS in 1993. I studied Interior Design at Pratt Institute Graduate School. And ended up in Miami. I always wanted to be a fine artist. Specially a painter but had a lot more fear and reservation about my practice.I understand that painting is therapeutic more than anything at first because I’ve been creating artwork in some fashion since I was a toddler and never could put it aside. My drawing style has changed from naïf to a personal style developed from different perspectives. I cover many themes with my art. Climate change, cultural identity, gay identity, dreams, racism, and spirituality. Animal spirits represent different moments in my life. I recently did a residency for 3 months in Quito at No Lugar. I needed to reorganize my life and revive my practice. Most paintings take many years to complete.
