When children are born for the first few weeks they see things in black and white: even now as an adult I still view things in this context. As an artist and a man living with HIV/AIDS for over three decades now I therefore tend to view ordinary life situations in the same way, despite the current fascination with shades of grey. Using ordinary objects which of course have their own innate symbolism my works reflect this personal view... Negative/Positive, gay/straight, yes/no, fat/thin, pretty/ugly, health/illness, and birth/death. This particular series of works executes in the absolute positive/negative of the ubiquitous dominoes' suggests: lucky/unlucky?
