Rich Fine
b.1986
Rich Fine is from Alabama and received formal training in theatrical design in Chicago, Fine craft in Portland, Oregon and classical painting in New York City. After his graduate schooling Mr. Fine apprenticed with a painter in Paris; adopting the biographically expressionistic style so prevalent in contemporary Montmartre which he employs within his studio based practice.
Painting is what matters and the way we do it is what defines us. There are so many ways in which to paint, and so many styles have been so thoroughly explored. As an artist who believes in the power of storytelling I hope to leave the viewer pondering as much as possible about the tale created visually. The job of any craftsman is to grow and improve, with luck the paintings get better with time and study.
