Rob Anderson

Rob Anderson (1953-2014) was a master realist with a remarkable ability to capture human emotion through his drawings and paintings. His compelling attention to detail, composition, value, color and delicately rendered surfaces demonstrates a vision that is both unique to his perspective and universal to the human condition.

Rob's multi-media installation, Rattlesnake in a Moving Car: Life with HIV, combines portraits, audio and sculpture to explore the lives of twenty long-time HIV-positive survivors. He also works in painting, drawing, and print. In 1982, he created the iconic poster for the Gay Olympic Games (now called the Gay Games), which ingeniously adapted classical Greek vase painting forms into a contemporary athletic symbol.
