"Portraits of Hope" is an online multimedia art exhibit that presents artists' responses to the AIDS epidemic. Last year's participants included: Penny Arcade, Tom Bianchi, Jack Mackenroth, Eric Rhein, George Towne, and many other artists.
With work from around the world in a variety of mediums, the powerful and accessible collection speaks to the breadth and depth of the ongoing epidemic. Last year, according to curator Steve Weinstein, "the response from both the public and the artists themselves was overwhelmingly positive."
This year Weinstein is out to do it again! He is looking from work about HIV/AIDS. Like last year theexhibit will run across EdgeMediaNetwork, which include the national site as well as 23 regional sites (e.g., EdgeNewYork.com, EdgeMiami.com, Edge Seattle.com). Everyone is welcome to apply. No Fees. All genres of art are accepted in digital form including but not limited to performance, dance, fashion, sculpture, craft, painting and photograph. It will run for several weeks before and after Dec. 1, World AIDS Day.
