Continuous Dialogues: Temporalities of HIV/AIDS
"Continuous Dialogues: Temporalities of HIV/AIDS", which runs until August 10th, features works by 13 Brazilian artists and proposes a powerful dialogue between different generations of contemporary art, with the temporalities of HIV/aids as its central axis. In an environment charged with sensitivity and history, the artworks occupy the Sotero Cosme Gallery, on the 6th floor of CCMQ, drawing connections between past, present, and future possibilities.
Curated by Ricardo Ayres and João Eduardo Freitas, with executive production by Sebastián Inostroza, Coordinator of the Culture Division at Somos, Continuous Dialogues revisits the 1994 exhibition “Arte Contra Aids”, also held at MACRS. It brings together artists who participated in that historic edition alongside new voices who continue to create based on today’s urgent issues around the theme.
NGO Somos is proud to be one of the supporters of the exhibition, reinforcing its commitment to fighting prejudice and strengthening narratives that place the lives and dignity of people living with HIV/aids at the center of the conversation. The exhibition will be on view until August 10th and will include educational activities and the launch of a digital exhibition catalog.
