This event celebrates the conclusion of NS, co directors Brian Getnick and Tanya Rubbak's 6-volume archive of Performance Art and community. Final Transmission: Performance Art and AIDS in Los Angeles is a book of intergenerational conversations between performance artists, activists and scholars reflecting on how the apex of the AIDS crisis continues to affect their work and communities. Essays by Getnick link these charged exchanges about loss, repair and resilience to the role artists play in transmitting history and myth through the current pandemic.
