The Studio Museum in Harlem in collaboration with The Museum of Modern Art presents Memories for the Future, a program series inviting audiences to create short films that give new form to forgotten or overlooked people, places, and histories.
The four workshops take inspiration from filmmaker Garrett Bradley's America (2019)—a multichannel video installation on view at MoMA that reimagines scenes of Black history and life from lost feature-length films made in the United States between 1912 and 1929.
Participants will have the chance to submit the short films that they create in the workshops to be screened at a live program with Bradley. Each workshop takes place over Zoom and is limited to forty participants. Please RSVP in advance.
