Women's Empowerment Art Therapy Block Party
Hancock St & Franklin Ave
Join us for our Second Annual Women's Empowerment Block Party!
Saturday, July 18, 12 - 3PM. Located Located on Hancock St., Between Franklin Ave. and Spencer Pl. in Brooklyn.
Last year, the Women's Empowerment Art Therapy Group celebrated the unveiling of our mural honoring women living with HIV created by 40+ women from our group long with a handful of youth participants and support staff from Groundswell.
Just like last year, we're holding a block party immediately around the corner from the mural on Hancock St. Come for food, double dutch, music, artmaking, and celebration as we hear from some of the women who participated in the mural's creation.
We will also have a zine of artwork and poetry from the group to take home!
The mural is installed at a pharmacy located at 1147 Fulton St with the mural on the wall just around the corner (Franklin Ave).
The Women's Empowerment Mural was funded by:
MoCADA
WIN Micro-Grant made possible by ViiV's Positive Action AMP Grant
Brooklyn Borough President Anthony Reynoso
Council Member Crystal Hudson
Special thanks to Ms. Dale Charles of the Bed-Stuy Gateway BID for identifying a location for the mural.
