Tony Feher was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1956, and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, with early stops in Florida and Virginia. He received a BA from The University of Texas, and currently resides in New York City. Feher has shown both nationally and internationally and is represented in such public collections as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and The Art Institute of Chicago.

Day Seven, SLC, came about while Feher was staying in Salt Lake City for two weeks, installing a major work at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Feher's work often takes inspiration from the visual nature of random environments and the objects within these spaces. As Feher states, he "stumbles through life picking up bits and pieces here and there, noticing relationships of color and form, taking advantage of inherent qualities of materials and situations for the purpose of making art.” These materials have included such items as plastic bottles, marbles, glass jars, painters tape, polystyrene packing – and in this case, socks and underwear. After long days of installing at the museum, Feher would return to the bungalow where he was staying and noticed the way his clothes began to accumulate on the bedroom floor. Feher photographed the phenomenon over several days, and “when it came time to do a wash I took some final shots, one of which is this image.” Day Seven, SLC, 2015 is a hand colored intaglio print measuring 22 1/4 x 15 inches and printed by 10 Grand Press in an edition of 20 with 8 APs.
