Steeped in European Mythology due to a background in Art History, my direction/interests have always centered in that area. The human form has been my visual inspiration throughout my life as an artist. I've been fortunate to have a mind that can "feel" three dimensional mass, as a sculptor would. And I've always loved translating that 3-D-ness onto a flat surface, i.e. paper, canvas, etc.
I often try to insert a sense of levity or maybe an ironic visual twist into my work. Hopefully this results in a certain personal "visual character" that can be sensed through viewing my paintings.
