Born in 1974, I live and work in Bologna, Italy.
My interest in photography made me first develop the most narrative aspects of the medium. I frequently used my own body as an instrument for identity search and expression, together with urban landscapes and details.
In 2007 I started to portray naked men, trying to show the widest variety of bodies and forms. In my male nude series, difference is an inestimable value and a way to explore the most intimate aspects of my subjects.
Intimacy is also the focus of my project "Tangibile" where photography documents the interaction between my models body and mine. The concept of interaction is central in my latest ongoing project "atomictrifolium".
I produced many artist books and published my works in contemporary art magazines and catalogs.
I exhibited in museums, private galleries and non-profit spaces in Europe and the United States.
My works are included in important European and international art collections.
--a few words about my latest project--
atomictrifolium is my most experimental, detailed and complex work.
It is a multimedia project composed of texts, images, videos, gif files and audio.
The main focus is on time as an element that bends and modifies reality and perception. There are bodies that interact with my body, places, objects, natural and artificial elements. There are images and visions of the present and the past composed to create an idea of future, perhaps apocalyptic or salvific. In this context, time can flow very quickly, very slowly or be crystallized in an instant, it wraps around itself.
It's not an escape from reality, it's the creation of a new reality.
This work involved dozens of people, required years of work and is still ongoing.
