Kathryn McGuinness

1958–2015

Kathryn Ann McGuinness (known as Kate to her many friends and Kathy to her siblings) was born April, 4^th, 1958 in New York City, the oldest daughter of five children to Thomas and Rose McGuinness. This past summer, Kathy passed away on June 23^rd, 2015 at the age of 57.

Kathy was a vivacious, kind, and happy child, her brilliant red hair and dynamic personality always in the forefront. From an early age, Kathy showed great artistic talent, always prolifically drawing, painting, and creating.

While not formally trained, Kathy’s amazing ability to capture the essence of emotions on paper and canvas, using her signature “pop-art” style, continued to give joy and happiness to all around her. Kathy’s life-long artistic passion transcended all of her life’s travails and, to this day, endures as a reminder to all of us that peace, love, and joy live on—if only we look.

The art work on display here is only a small glimpse into Kathy’s soul and we hope you will see and feel the love that was Kathryn, “Kathy,” or “Kate” McGuinness.
