A tribute to Charles Lum’s life told through his work as a film maker. Featuring Super-8 films Charlie shot as a teenager in the 1970s up to the last film he made about his battle with AIDS related lymphoma. Charlie AKA Clublum was a much-loved and valued member of our queer and film community, whose films defied the taboos and stigmas of sex, sex in public places and sex with HIV. His films embody a quirky earnestness and a wacky and wicked sense of humor and always the utter delight and pleasure of another body.

Scott (DAVID WHITE) is still sleeping with his ex-boyfriend and floundering through life when his mother (MARIE SMALLEY) calls to tell him his older sister Maggie (also portrayed by DAVID WHITE) is in the hospital with a brain tumor. Scott rushes to be by her side. As she lies unconscious, he remembers the times their lives intersected. She was a party girl, a popular girl, she got around. Scott imagines what Maggie would say but ultimately realizes that you can never truly know anyone and decides to take a chance on love and life. "A true Todd Verow film featuring all the marks of his DIY-filmmaking style, “Fucked In the Head” tells the story of a young gay man Scott and the relationship he has with his childhood hero and older sister Maggie (both played by David J. White). When Scott visits a terminally ill Maggie in the hospital back in his home of Maine, the two recount a youth of sex, drugs and drama in which Maggie looks after the troubled Scott but as time goes on, roles reverse. A gay, nostalgic coming-of-age story that is funny, touching and full of a surprising amount of heart." - Walter Crasshole Todd Verow was born in the town of Bangor, Maine on November 11th, 1966. He made short experimental films and worked as a cinematographer before making his feature film debut with "FRISK" in 1996. Starting his own production company Bangor Films, Todd has directed over twenty-five features and numerous shorts, establishing himself as the most prolific auteur emeritus of the New Queer Cinema. Fiercely independent, Todd Verow produces his films using whatever money he has. He was one of the first filmmakers to embrace video as a cheap and easy means of production famously declaring that “film is dead” way back in 1997. He proudly describes himself as an underground film maker in the tradition of his idols George and Mike Kuchar, Kenneth Anger, Jack Smith and Andy Warhol.
