Russell Sharon: Wildflowers

Russell Sharon is creative genius whose work as a sculptor, painter, inventor, designer, and builder has captivated collectors and critics alike for over five decades. He first exhibited at Hal Bromm in the early 1980’s.
On view in this new exhibition are Sharon’s relatively unknown small-scale watercolors from the early 1990s. Focused on wildflowers spotted along rural roads in his native Minnesota, these paintings capture the delicate beauty of these native flowers against deep magenta backgrounds. Ranging from wild roses to columbines to daisies, each painting brings the delicate freshness of these flowers to life. The works reflect the deep pleasure the artist derived from chance discovery of these native flowers, each delicately beautiful and precious to him.
Russell Sharon: Wildflower Watercolors remains on view through 30 March 2024.
Gallery hours are Wednesday – Saturday 12 – 5 and by appointment.
