Bodies of Resistance was the first major contemporary art exhibition in ten years to reconsider the AIDS pandemic in the United States and to position it in relation to representations of the body and disease in different cultures. The catalog examines social, political and medical aspects of the worldwide AIDS pandemic with critical commentary by respected writers from the international arts and AIDS communities.
